Ryan Rosloniec

(AKA Coach Rosie – Team Grippen, Club, Crag Akademie & Adult Classes Coach)

At ÜG Since: 2018

Climbing Since: 2001

Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Why I Want Kids to Learn @UG: I would like to introduce kids to a lifestyle that provides both skills and opportunities for developing themselves as climbers and adults as well as having them experience being part of the UG community.

Favorite Moment Teaching Kids: Anytime a kid reaches a new flash level

Bio:  Ryan has a BS in Fisheries & Wildlife Management from Michigan State University, and an MA in English from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. After 14 years of teaching English as a Second Language at home and abroad, running the gambit from 1st grade to university, he decided to combine his two passions, which have always been education and climbing. Ryan found out early that climbing and languages were paths that would allow him to travel and interact with different cultures, leading him to climb in 14 different countries and counting. Through coaching Ryan aims to facilitate kids to recognize their potential and take advantage of all that climbing has to offer. When not coaching, you can find him on the rocks attacking routes, boulders and walls with the same level of passion he’s had since tying-in for the first time.
