Adaptive Climbing

In partnership with our local adaptive communities, Übergrippen hosts a monthly adaptive climbing night, typically on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Climbers and aspiring climbers with adaptive needs can come climb with volunteers that provide assistance with instruction, adaptive rigging, and more!

This is a great way to learn the basics of indoor rock climbing with a group of like-minded community members! We will cover the basics of rope work, belay commands, climbing movement, and crag etiquette so that climbers of all levels can become confident in the vertical environment.

The benefits of climbing have been proven to help a wide range of disabilities such as PTSD, amputees, and TBI’s. We will focus on every participant as an individual and encourage each climber to push their unique and personal comfort zones. Volunteers will be available to belay, excited to assist, and simply hang out for the evening!
