Community Meetups
Meet new climbing parters!
At Übergrippen, we’re all about community — meeting new climbing partners is one of the best aspects of the climbing community. While we don’t offer outdoor trips of any kind, we’re proud to support peer-led meetups where climbers can connect, plan their own adventures, and build awesome friendships.
Use the GroupMe App to join & follow community-organized meet-ups at Übergrippen (and at other climbing locations).
Existing Topics to join:
- Tuesday Night Crew at ÜG
- “Don’t forget a camping chair and a beverage tonight post climbing!”
- Trade Belays at ÜG
- “Trade belays on Mondays at 5pm? Open to anyone at any skill level!”.
- “Lead Belay Parters on Friday Mornings? I’m flexible on the time.”
- Outdoor Climbing
- “Who’s up for Castlewood Canyon this weekend?”
- “Weekend trip climbing & biking in Moab in Oct?”
How It Works
We use the free app GroupMe to help our climbing community stay connected and coordinate outdoor sessions.
- Join one (or more!) of our GroupMe text groups based on your interests:
- Trading belays here at ÜG
- Climbing elsewhere
- See who’s heading out, where they’re going, and when they’re meeting.
- Start your own meetup thread or jump into an existing one — it’s casual, opt-in, and easy to use.
- No pressure, no commitment — just real-time, text-based connection with other climbers in your community.
Need help getting set up on your phone? Stop by the front desk and we’ll walk you through it in less than a minute.
‼️ Posting a Meetup?
We love seeing community members take initiative. Before posting a meetup on our board or group, you’ll need to agree to a few simple guidelines:
- You’re acting independently and not as a representative of Übergrippen.
- Your meetup is not sponsored or insured by the crag.
- All climbers are responsible for their own safety and decisions.
- Community members setting up events are never accepting any payment of any kind.
- Everyone should follow good crag etiquette anywhere they climb!
⚠️ Important Notice
- These meetups are independently organized by members of the climbing community.
- Übergrippen is not responsible for the planning, supervision, or safety of any outdoor climbing activities.
- Participation is completely voluntary and at your own risk.
- We always encourage good judgment, solid communication, and looking out for one another where ever you climb.
