High School
Climbing Club

This two-hour on-going club that runs throughout the entire year is led by our professional coaches to help guide high school climbers interested in learning basic climbing skills, improving skills already learned and/or training to compete for their High School in the American Scholastic Climbing League in a fun and friendly environment.

Teens can join at any time (when there is availability) and end their club participation at any time (although to rejoin, they will be added to the bottom of the wait-list till there is availability).

Students of the High School Climbing Club should embody the following:

Important Details

Youth enrolled in any program at Übergrippen will be climbing with other high schoolers. This means your teen will be belayed by another teen enrolled in the program and your teen will belay other teens. It is important that you and your teen recognize that climbing is dangerous. We take precautions by making it mandatory that every teen is belay certified (meaning they have passed a belay test).

If you are not comfortable with this, please do not enroll your teen in our group programs. We offer private guided climbing and can also instruct parents on these same belay skills (enroll in our adult Learn to Belay class) so that you can supervise your teen’s climbing experience directly.

Requirements

  • All students must be top rope belay certified to join this club.
    • If they are not, they may take our Learn to Belay Class belay course before joining the class.

When

Club is once a week and we have two offerings:

Cost

  • $75/month for members.
  • $120/month for non-members. This non-member fee includes entry and equipment rental (shoes, harness, & belay device).
