Our Yoga Instructors
Lauren Kosman
ÜG Fitness Coordinator
& Yoga Instructor
Lauren schedules all of our yoga and fitness classes and can help coordinate you with private instructions with any of our instructors. Please email lauren@ugclimbing.com with any questions or inquiries.
Lauren is a CO native and loves all the outdoor activities and adventure CO has to offer. She found yoga in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the physically-demanding aspects of the practice, but more importantly, the softness, mental clarity, and body awareness she gained. Lauren quickly knew she wanted to share this life-changing practice and began teaching in Castle Rock in 2018.
Lauren’s classes focus on the breath and body connection, mindfulness, dynamic/functional movement and strength building. She tries to keep students engaged and coming back with fun, energetic playlists, creative sequencing and introducing new and challenging postures to work towards. Her ultimate goal is for every student to have that “ah-ha!” moment when the breath, body and mind are all linked and you get to experience the true magic of yoga.
Jenny Albertson
Yoga Instructor
Rhonda Rowell
Yoga Instructor
Rhonda’s love of yoga was first sparked in 2004 when she took her first class in Sedona. She was able to ignite her passion fully when she completed her 200 hour YTT training in 2020, and she has been teaching ever since.
Rhonda gravitates toward the empowering nature of breath and the mindfulness and release that is provided during a yoga class. Rhonda’s goals as a yoga facilitator is to challenge her yogis in a physical, mental, and spiritul way in order for her students to flourish and discover enlightenment both on and off of their mats.
If you can’t find Rhonda in the yoga studio or in the high school English classroom, you can find her traveling the world with her family, reading the next Pulitzer, skiing during the winter, paddleboarding in the summer, walking her two doodles, or watching the Avs win another game!
Amber LaRusso
Yoga Instructor
Amber is a Wisconsin native who arrived in Colorado by way of Boston, MA, where she got her 200 RYT in Yoga of Energy Flow in 2014. She is also trained in prenatal, yin & restorative yoga, vibrational sound therapy, and a Reiki I attunement. Amber is working towards her 500 RYT focusing on living yoga, bhakti practices, and energetic alignment.
Classes with Amber offer a meditative quality leaving you feeling refreshed and deeply connected. Whether a slow flow infused with breathwork or a restorative sequence supported by sound meditation, she provides an opportunity to let go of the day, get grounded, and focus inward allowing your innate inner wisdom to guide you.
She aims to create an uplifting space for people to grow into their own unique version of the practice, acknowledging and honoring their whole selves and the beauty of every version they bring to the mat with them.
Heather Yarin
Yoga Instructor
Heather is a certified 500 hour YTT through Yoga Alliance. In 2015, she received her 200 hour YTT which was focused on a vinyasa flow style of practice and taught at a studio until she moved to Castle Rock in the summer of 2020. After suffering some injuries Heather realized she was going to have to change the way in which she approached her yoga practice and overall fitness activities.
In the fall of 2021 she began her alignment focused 300 hour YTT based on teachings by B.K.S Iyengar. She has since taken additional trainings in Hands-On-Assist and Yoga Therapeutics.Often, Heather’s classes are intuitively led and begin with breathing exercises that will calm the nervous system and connect the mind and body.
Her classes connect you with your breath and bring movement into a state of mediation. She believes her classes should be all inclusive and offers a variety of modifications, uses yoga props such as blocks and straps and offers hands on assists. Whether you are brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, her classes have something for everyone.
Jennifer Minor
Yoga Instructor
Jennifer is an energetic, wellness-focused yogi, fitness enthusiast, and certified holistic nutritionist. She owned a dance studio for six years, then began her personal yoga practice in 2004. She fell head over heels (literally) with yoga and decided to take her practice to the next level, receiving her RYT 200 certification and registering with Yoga Alliance. She holds specific certifications in Vinyasa, Yin, Meditation/Mindfulness, and is a certified Lifestyles/Wellness Coach and holistic nutritionist.
Jennifer begins each practice with an emphasis for her students to stay present with their breath. Her wish is for her students’ personal time on their mat to translate into other areas of their life, as it has for her.
Chelsea Roche
Yoga Instructor
Chelsea has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years, starting when her high school decided to offer yoga as an alternative to traditional gym class. Since then, yoga has been the only constant through getting a degree, moving states, working as a corporate software engineer, becoming a working mother, then becoming a stay-at-home mother.
She decided to deepen her practice by pursuing a RYT 200 with Maitri Yoga in 2016. She learned then that yoga is so much more than a physical practice, and began to notice the ways that yogic philosophy applies to daily life. She has completed continuing education on arm balancing, anatomy, and how the same pose can be practiced differently for various goals.
Chelsea’s classes are geared toward teaching body awareness and self-kindness, both of which carry well beyond the mat. She is passionate about helping students get to know their bodies through movement by breaking down poses into small, easy-to-learn parts. She believes that yoga should be accessible to anyone – there is no one right way to practice yoga.
